Eveyone knows that behind the success of every great musician is a lot of practice, practice, practice... This is especially true at Center Stage Strings Music Camp where the emphasis is on helping to develop talented young musicians in their quest to be "center stage".
Over the past two years, the practice facilities at the summer camp have been what one would call "barely adequate". This is not to say they were any worse than at most music camps but they were not up to the standards of our Artistic Director, Danielle Belen. "Students at Center Stage Strings deserve to have real practice rooms where they can concentrate on perfecting their best sound". Also, we needed to accomplish this for a lot less than the going commercial rate of $10,000 and up per room.
Picking up the challenge, along with hammers and screw guns, a couple of our Board Member volunteers jumped to the task and built a prototype modular practice room that could be assembled from sound retardant panels and set up indoors. The prototype tested out to provide just what was needed and the name "PractiCube" was coined for these modular and re-usable practice cubicles.
We are already building PractiCubes for the Summer Music Camp. Volunteer supporters from the local community are providing the construction work for free, but we need to raise the $700 in material costs for each PractiCube.
You can help by joining our "Adopt A PractiCube" program with a tax-deductible donation of $700.
Your support would be greatly appreciated by the students and faculty of Center Stage Strings and it will be a direct benefit in building the success of Center Stage Strings in it's mission for musical excellence.
