Q. What will my daily schedule look like?
A. A typical schedule would be:
Q. How much does the camp cost and are there scholarships?
A. Camp tuition is $1700 for the two week camp. This includes room and board as well as lessons, coaching and most recreational activities. There are merit and financial based scholarships available. Please see the Application Form link at the top of this page for more information.
Q. When does camp start?
A. Center Stage Strings students will arrive in Three Rivers on Sunday, June 16th, 2013 after 2 pm. Parents are welcome to stay for an orientation at the camp. After that, parents say goodbye!
Q. Where will I be staying?
The Music Camp is being held at Santa Teresita Youth Conference Center in Three Rivers, California. All student housing and camp functions will be held at this beautiful campus with dorms where all the students will live, a full cafeteria, practice building, basketball court, hiking trails, and more.
Q. Will we do anything besides practicing?
A. Yes! We will be in one of the most beautiful parts of the country- we will enjoy hiking, swimming and playing outdoor games. There will also be a movie night, ping pong and all kinds of other activities.
Q. Will I have a chance to perform?
A. Yes, absolutely. There will be several opportunities to perform solo and/or chamber music, based on teacher recommendation.
Q. Will parents be able to see performances?
A. Yes – parents are welcome to any of the concerts or master classes. We recommend that parents come up for the final weekend concerts. Saturday night is the Faculty Trio concert and Sunday afternoon is the Student Concert at 5 pm. After this concert, there will be an end-of-camp party for students, parents and faculty. We suggest that parents book a hotel room for Sunday night and leave with students the next morning, as it will be dark and a long drive/flight back home. Visit www.threerivers.com for lodging information. It is best to book your accommodations early as Three Rivers is a very popular location in the summer.
Q. What do I need to bring with me to camp?
A. Besides casual clothes and regular toiletries, you will also need comfortable walking shoes, a swimsuit if you would like, sunblock and bugspray. Evenings are cool so bring a light jacket. For concerts, boys/men will need dress pants, shoes, collared shirt and tie. Ladies can wear a colorful dress, preferably long. Better to err on the dressy side.
